Narrative Information: Mang Buk was originally opened in 1962 by a split team from A1/122 (the other half of which was at Hoa Cam). The logistics support for this team came through Danang. The camp was occupied successively by teams from the 1st, 5th and 7th SFGA's and was closed in o/a August 29, 1963. For information on the earlier TDY teams at Mang Buk see the previously published monographs on 1st SFGA, 5th SFGA and 7th SFGA TDY teams. Mang Buk was re-opened about July 1965 as an FOB of A-243 and later was given the status of and redesignated A-246 o/a 6/01/66. It was converted to RF/PF o/a 3/31/70. Mang Buk was located in Dak To District, Kontum Province.
