Who's Who from Detachment A-231 (Suoi Doi and Tieu Atar) (Partial Draft)

The following is a listing of all personnel in our database, assigned to Detachment A-231 (Soui Doi and Tieu Atar). Narrative Information: See below. For information on the earlier TDY teams at the Buon Enao Project and Ban Don see the previously published monographs on 1st SFGA and 7th SFGA TDY teams. The Suoi Doi camp was located in Pleiku Province, ? District. The camp, opened of 12/11/67, at Tieu Atar was in Darlac Province, ? District. The Tieu Atar camp was turned over to the 71st Border Ranger Battalion on 09/30/70.

Detachment A5/1 (redesignated A5/214 on 1/8/65) closed Ban Don, which they had taken over from A-752 after the 1964 Montagnard revolt, and relocated to Suoi Doi o/a 1/1/65. Suoi Doi was disbanded on 3/24/65, after a major battle at the Man Yang Pass and the USASF assets went to Plateau Gi (A-243). Ban Don was later re-opened as Trang Phuc (A-233). The PCS A- Detachment at Dong Tre (see A-222) in early '65 was originally designated A-231 and reported to B-23 at Ban Me Thuot. When it was shifted to the control of B-22, it was redesignated A-222. The number remained open until applied to the camp at Tieu Atar opened a/o 12/11/67.
